Erschöpftenhauer Stuhl
Object
2012

The chair takes the german word “erschöpft” (exhausted) mixed with the name of the philosopher Schopenhauer, who’s main idea was the suffering of constant striving, and creates a text work in four stages of constant unrest.
The chair ejects the subject as the seating surface constantly turns. On the back of each chair is a plaque defining the four linear stages of the creative process:

– DESPAIR
– SELF-REPAIR
– ON A ROLL ECSTASY OF CREATION
– RE-DESPAIR.
